Went to Daniel for a new disco 2 I purchased as a farm wagon, only to find it had a failed head gasket, got quotes from two specialists and thought they were a bit pricey, got on the forums and Dan came well recommended by the groups, Dan got it in fairly quick but I wasn’t in a rush as this is a hobby car really, up on ramps to inspect as I didn’t want to waste money on a rotten motor, his knowledge is excellent spotted a few other issues like CV boot, prop donut, bump stops missing and sorted all this with the head gasket, head skim with pressure test before to be sure it was good, full service and EGR delete, put back together quickly and made time to show me over the whole install etc, photos of the work and left me feeling satisfied, good knowledgable honest guy who isn’t about ripping anyone off, will be back in the new year for chassis repaint and protection and some ball joints, cheers Dan for the help 👍
My 2007 discovery 3 had the P017 2010-11 recall brake vacuum pump issues gurgling when pushing brake pedal took it to landrover dealer yes same problem but mine isn't in the Vin numbers range I've had it from new only done just over 50k most people would of done that mileage in 5yrs so problem would of flagged up around 2012 but LR said they will be intouch if same vin flags up in the future so any excuse to get out of it . I came across Dan LR Automotive Read all the reviews & was happy so ordered the updated vacuum pump kit which will prevent this happening again gave Dan a call booked in & all done within Dan's estimated time .

Needed my rear chassis welded up Dan took on the work and worked around the days I could do quality work definitely recommend 👌
Dan replaced the rear quarter chassis on my D2. He did an excellent job and it was nice to deal with someone with a passion for landrovers and who definitely knows his stuff. I am extremely happy with his work. I was kept up to date with photos and videos while he was working on old Mable. His advice was very welcome too. First time using Dan at LR Automotive UK. Being very new to land rovers, and very little experience on working on cars, I was getting very over priced jobs from other garages and was feeling a little stuck. I reached out to Dan and he was just unbelievable, very honest and very straight with me about what I needed, sent me all the links for the right products, and got me penciled in the diary right away. Came today to do the work and the guy is an absolute gent! In an hour, the job was done, and even showed me every step and procedure, so I could learn at the same time. His skills and expertise are second to none and I will NOT be taking my Land Rover any where else!

I had Dan in to weld some engine mounts onto a new defender 110 chassis. Weld looks great, good price and all round good service. Highly recommend
Dan’s a great guy! Very experienced, professional yet easygoing. Came to my place in less than a week, repaired a leak in the water pump and also helped around suggesting a number of mods and improvements for my 300Tdi. We had a good chat, curious to hear the story of the car and connect, adding a personal touch that is always appreciated. We already planned some more work so I’ll definitely use LR Automotive again!
Dan is super nice, quick to respond and really helpful. He changed my EGR cooler and valve on my Freelander. Communicated and send pics through the process (notoriously fiddly due to location). Great price too! Will def use Dan now and it’s especially good that he’s mobile and can come to you.

I've used Dan @ LR Automotive twice now. First time round, he came out to replace my Defenders steering pump that had decided to empty all its contents onto the road. He came out 3 or 4 days before to assess the issue, recommended the parts needed and then managed to squeeze me in once the parts arrived. The second time was last week, where I dropped the defender to his workshop where he fabricated from scratch and welded new door seal returns on the bulkhead that had severely rusted. Once painted these will look like new, really impressed with the work that went into creating the parts. I discussed the next job that needs doing with Dan who has pointed me in the direction of companies for parts and also recommended certain parts to consider. I would highly recommend using LR Automotive.

I don't drive a Land Rover but after telling him I wanted some work done on my Shogun Sport 2.5td, he was more than happy to help me.
Great knowledge of 4x4s and a real attention to detail. He wasn't just throwing parts on and off but taking his time to make sure things were done carefully and properly.
He did my Cam and Balance belts with new tensioners, water pump, thermostat and rocker cover all very reasonably priced and done in good time!
Could not recommend enough!

I'd be adding a possible £6k more.
"Alice" Stands me £8k, but you couldn't get a New Small Car for that Price, and "Alice" is My Daily, and Work Horse, so I can make Money, from Her Service, which I hope to be for the next 7 Years at least (or More).
If your needing someone that's Good at his Job you'd not go wrong, getting hold of Daniel Pickett.

I had Dan out today to replace my rotten rear door on my defender with a new to me puma rear door,he did a great job and even with the tricky wiring he pulled out all the stops & did a great job!!!

Got recommended Dan by a couple of people and what a recommendation he really was! A top fella! A great fabricator! World class at welding I must say👌 I came to dan with a land rover bumper with a twist! I wanted him to fabricate it to my Mitsubishi😂 something a little different but I can well and truly say he smashed it out of the park! He took the time to put together a master piece i must say! Even showed me the welds are that good by hopping up onto the winch bumper a couple of times🤣 If you are looking for a mechanic,Fabricator or just a service Dan really is your man!
fantastic service from Dan incrediblely pleased with his work had some issues on my defender that had been miss diagnosed he got it back up and running as it should for me in no time will only be using him from now on !

Dan did an absolutely great job, getting our Defender TD5 ready to pass its MOT after failing with quite a few issues. He did some great welding on the chassis and rear cross member and replaced a wheel bearing and both front shocks along with fixing some of our other issues. It was a long list for me but he got it done no problem and in great time. It’s also so great that he can come out to us and gave us some good insights to improving for the long term. Couldn’t recommend enough!

When I first met Daniel I was in two minds on weather to cut my losses and sell my work in process pride and joy and move on to something else after seeing his out preform anything on the day and that alone changed my mind I had already heard previously of him being known as the 300tdi wizard

very happy with work carried out on my land rover had a new gear box, clutch rocker cover gasket and few other bits. Dan kept me informed from start to finish when parts arrived and when it would be done 👍 I highly recommend using dan to anyone ,will be using him from now on👍
